Postdoctoral fellowship at Ecole Polytechnique (Palaiseau, France) in partnership with CEA-LETI (Grenoble, France) – development and physical characterization of new solution-processed organic films for hybrid solution/evaporated OLED.

A postdoc position (1 year) is to be filled in the laboratory LPICM (Ecole Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France) in partnership with the LCV laboratory (CEA-LETI, Grenoble, France). These laboratories host an important activity related to organic electronics. The project focuses on the implementation and characterization of molecular layers deposited by solution process for optimizing hybrid OLED structures. The term hybrid OLED is related to the development of new OLED architectures made by a solvent-based process of the monomers (usually HIL to EML) and half by thermal evaporation of the monomers.

As part of this work, the candidate will work on new functional molecules (developed by a third party laboratory) to be incorporated into the final hybrid OLED. In particular, the single film made from solution will be characterized by the candidate (measuring physical, optical, and electronic properties) in order to provide an optimal film microstructure and properties to enable highly efficient hybrid OLED .

The desired candidate profile should be as follows:

  • Good knowledge in the field of organic electronics (organic semiconductors, OLED, OPV, OTFT)
  • Very good knowledge of thin film processes related to these devices (process from solution, vacuum evaporation)
  • Very good knowledge of physical characterization, electronics, optics and photophysics of these systems (measurement of electron mobility, pulsed IVL characterization, fluorescent properties)
  • Good knowledge of imaging / characterization of surfaces: AFM, SEM, XPS / UPS
  • Physics of organic semiconductors
  • Concepts of modeling of these systems
